Japan's ambassador to Namibia, Shinichi Asazuma, says he is pleased with the progress of the water, sanitation, and hygiene interventions and healthcare capacity projects at Khorixas.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information and Communication Technology is in the Kunene Region for an oversight visit.

The visit is as part of its constitutional mandate to exercise oversight over executive institutions entrusted with public funds to deliver services to citizens.

The Minister of Urban and Rural Development, James Sankwasa, has expressed concern about the growing number of disputes over the recognition of traditional leaders in Namibia.

The police in Kunene Region recorded a positive downward trend in reported crime during the period under review.

NUDO Leader Vetaruhe Kandorozu accused the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform (MAFWLR) of sourcing water from areas where they fail to provide clean water to their local residents, particularly the Kavango Region and various boreholes in the Kunene Region.

Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare says the delay in salary payments to public servants in the Kunene Region was caused by a technical administrative issue and should not be interpreted as a deliberate attempt to disadvantage anyone.

Kunene Regional Governor Vipuakuje Muharukua has stated that the planned State of the Region address will proceed as scheduled, despite what he describes as attempts to undermine his constitutional responsibility to address the council and the Kunene Region.

Environment and Tourism Minister Indileni Daniel says there may be a need to cull elephants in the Kunene Region to control a growing population. 

Kunene Governor will launch a Capital Foundation in Opuwo on the 28th of this month.

The foundation is an initiative of Kunene Governor Vipuakuje Muharukua aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, supporting emerging enterprises, and empowering communities.
