The Botswana Wildlife Producers Association expressed discontent against the United Kingdom's Hunting Trophies or Import Prohibition Bill. 

The bill tabled in the UK's Parliament in 2022 seeks to prohibit the import of hunting trophies into the UK.

Speaking at a media briefing recently in Gaborone, the Chairperson of the Wildlife Producers Association, Leonard Matenje, says the proposed bill will have a negative impact on communities that depend on hunting.

Namibian journalists have been urged to embrace artificial intelligence (AI), as it brings many benefits to their profession.

The call was made by various news editors at the Future of Journalism Education in Southern Africa conference in Windhoek. AI has captured many professions and is effectively used internationally. Authors from SADC countries co-authored a book titled "Dominant Parties as Governments in Southern Africa: Their changing nature and its implications for democracy and democratic consolidation".

The book provides a research basis for students as well as policymakers.

The book covers case studies on Namibia, South Africa, Botswana, Angola, Mozambique, Lesotho, Eswatini, and Zimbabwe.

It captures the changing narratives and political dynamics in the Southern African context, honing in on former liberation movements turned governing parties.

74% of men have died in road accidents while 60% have been injured in the past three years on national roads.

This is according to the Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund, whose Chief Executive Officer is calling on women to play a greater role in promoting road safety.

A two-day conference for women in road safety ended at Swakopmund on Friday.

The platform was aimed at influencing appropriate road user behaviour and allowing women to find their voice among demands for safer roads.
