Three years after capital projects were approved for the Kavango East by Parliament, the Ministry of Industrialisation and Trade still has little to show for it. 

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Economics and Public Administration walked away dissatisfied from a recent visit to these sites.

The Ministry of Industrialisation and Trade is seeking input on policies that would accelerate economic growth, promote entrepreneurship, and create a conducive environment for investment. 

The Ministry of Industrialisation and Trade honoured the late President Dr. Hage Geingob, who served as the minister from 2008 to 2012, for his significant contributions to expanding Namibia's trade and industrial initiatives.

The Minister of Industrialisation and Trade, Lucia Iipumbu, is confident that the Investment Promotion and Facilitation Bill, once it becomes law, will attract, retain, and facilitate both domestic and foreign sustainable investments.

The Executive Director in the Ministry of Trade and Industrialization Sikongo Haihambo has commended the Namibian Standards Institution for ensuring that there is fair trade in the economy.

He said this during the celebration of the World Metrology at Rundu.

The first EU/Namibia quality infrastructure forum is underway following a twinning project, providing support to the Namibia Standard Institution and the Industrialization and Trade Ministry.

This entails areas such as standardization, certification, trade, and industry.

The Ministry of Industrialisation and Trade, in collaboration with the Namibia Trade Forum and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), recently held an engagement with the business community in the Zambezi Region.
