The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform has announced the appointment of new members to the Land Reform Advisory Commission (LRAC).

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah on Friday questioned Acting Executive Director in the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform, Ben Haraseb, about a consultancy firm allegedly paid N$4 million to assist in integrating former Agribusdev staff into the ministry.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has questioned the Ministry of Agriculture’s decision to retain management of the Kalimbeza National Rice Project, instead of transferring it to the University of Namibia (UNAM) as she previously recommended.

The Ministry of Urban and Rural Development has directed the |Khomanin Traditional Authority to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform regarding the alleged issue of a dubious land sale of Baumgartsbrunn land.

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform, Inge Zaamwani, has officially handed over allotment letters for resettlement farming units to generational farm workers who had previously grazed in the corridors of the Omaheke Region. 

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has appointed Inge Zaamwaani as Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Management. 

Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah made the announcement at State House today.

The Omaheke Regional Council, in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Water, and Land Reform, has commenced the drilling of water boreholes in seven villages in the Otjombinde Constituency.

The Directorate of Water Supply within the Ministry of Agriculture, Water, and Land Reform plans to drill a hundred more boreholes across the country in this financial year.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Water, and Land Reform, in collaboration with the Meat Board of Namibia, launched a country-wide awareness campaign on the Livestock Identification and Traceability System (NamLITS) and stock brands at Katima Mulilo.

The campaign runs until the end of October.

The ministries of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform, and Environment, Forestry, and Tourism held a sub-basin landscape level inception meeting at Ndiyona Constituency in the Kavango East Region.

The meeting was meant to sensitise locals to the project and eventually get them to buy into it.
