President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has said the Genocide Remembrance Day should serve as a powerful reminder of Namibia's shared resolve to continue on the path of nation-building.

The Genocide Remembrance Day commemorates the atrocities committed between 1904 and 1908.

Vice President Lucia Witboo has paid tribute to liberation struggle icon Jonathan Goliath. 

Late Goliath died at the age of 83 after an illness a week ago in Keetmanshoop. 

Vice-President Lucia Witbooi has called on Namibians to emulate educational ideals of building a knowledge-based society envisioned by the late Deputy Prime Minister, Hendrik Witbooi, and fellow national leaders. 

She made the call during her visit to Johanna Jacobs Vocational Centre in Gibeon. 

Vice-President Lucia Witbooi has called on young people to be bold, consistent, and disciplined in their pursuit of knowledge and skills, describing education as the most effective weapon against poverty.

The Vice President, Lucia Witbooi, urged young people to respect and be proud of their roots.

She made the remarks during the preliminary competition for Miss Non-Governmental Organisation Namibia in the capital.

Vice-President Lucia Witbooi has urged the Sesfontein inhabitants to correct what she called the mistake of the past by voting for the Swapo Party in the upcoming by-election.

Eight households at Blouwes village in the ||Kharas Region have been connected to the national electricity grid.

This was done through an electrification project undertaken by the Swapo Party national leaders assigned to the region in collaboration with the local community.

Tiboth died on Monday at the age of 80.
