MeatCo responds to Agriculture Minister's claim that they are in ICU

MeatCo says it has introduced a number of reforms and restructuring to remain afloat, despite natural calamities which affected the livestock sector.

Its Chief Executive Officer Mwilima Mushokobanji was responding to a recent remark by Agriculture, Water and Land Reform Minister Carl Schleittwein who described the state-owned meat processing and marketing entity as being in an ICU.

Schlettwein made this remark during his staff address in Windhoek.

Walvis Bay woman electrocuted at work says her contract was terminated while in ICU

A 23-year-old Walvis Bay woman who was electrocuted at work says her contract was allegedly terminated while she was admitted to the intensive care unit.

The now disabled Theresia Jeremia was once a healthy young woman before she survived an electric shock incident in her line of duty.

This situation has left Jeremia in the full-time care of family and friends.

Jeremia moved from the rural area years ago to look for greener pastures in the harbor town.

She was then employed by Spar as a chef on a contract until the incident around June last year.
