The Ohangwena Directorate of Education urgently requires about N$2.4 billion to address serious infrastructure shortages in schools across the region.

The Kavango West Region tops public schools in the Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate Advanced Subsidiary Level (NSSCAS) for full-time candidates.

Despite the regional rank order reflecting notable shifts in performance between 2024 and 2025, the region has maintained its position since 2024.

The Kavango East Region has dropped five spots in the 2025 Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate Ordinary Advanced Subsidiary (NSSCAS) Level for full-time candidates based on overall national performance. 

In 2024, the region ranked third place, but 2025 saw it place eighth. 

The Namibia National Students Organization (NANSO) says there is still discrimination against the hairstyles of learners in public schools, which is a violation of their rights.
