FAO donates smart gadgets to enhance early warning systems against infestation of locusts in parts of Namibia

The Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations has donated 96 smart gadgets to enhance early warning systems against the destructive infestation of locusts in several parts of Namibia. Last year, Namibia lost crops and grazing land measuring 1,4 million hectares predominantly in northern parts of the country to locust infestation at a cost of N$40 million.
