Jack Huang's bid to get import duties exemption fails

The Supreme Court in a judgement delivered on Wednesday declared as irregular, an order by the High Court in which Jack's Trading was exempted from paying import duties on cement. The agreement which exempted the Chinese-owned company from paying import tax was entered into between the firm, the Minister of Finance and the Commissioner of Customs and Excise in 2013. The agreement was successfully challenged by Ohorongo Cement in the Supreme Court.
