Kavango West woman kicked to death by her 20-year-old son

The Namibian Police have reported several incidents of murder, occurring over the weekend, countrywide. Among them, 57-year-old Nipembe Behetta from Gcigco village in Kavango West Region, died on the spot on Friday, after her 20-year-old biological son allegedly kicked her all over the body while wearing boots. The suspect was arrested and he was expected to appear at Rundu Magistrate's Court today. A lifeless body of a 33-year-old Albertus Raatz was discovered on Saturday, at farm Droe Putz in the Vaalgras area. It is alleged that on Friday night, a fight started between the deceased and his girlfriend, and the suspect tried to separate them and the deceased turned to the suspect. The suspect, then allegedly stabbed the deceased with a knife several times. The 45-year-old male suspect was arrested. A 66-year-old Ignatuis Higinus Nakwaya from Okafitu Kakuni village in the Outapi Constituency, died at Outapi District Hospital on Sunday, after being struck by gun pellets on the neck and chest. It is alleged that a 40-year-old male suspect was shooting a cow when the incident occurred. The suspect was arrested and he is expected to appear before the Outapi Magistrate's Court on Tuesday. A 36-year-old male, who is a car guard at Pick n Pay, was approached by an unknown male person driving a white Toyota Hilux pick-up with an unknown registration number on Friday and asked him to direct him to the nearest FNB ATM. The victim allegedly got into the car and drove with the suspect until at Shoprite, Swakopmund town, where the suspect withdrew money and they proceeded to a house behind Woerman Brock in town, where he told the victim that he will drop him off at Pick n Pay. When they got into the car the suspect drove towards Walvis Bay at a high speed which forced the victim to jump out of the vehicle, out of fear. He was taken to Swakopmund State Hospital by a truck driver who was driving behind that vehicle. No arrests have been made yet. Three-year-old Shawn Zachery Virgil Vries from Ramkamp, died upon arrival at Keetmanshoop Hospital on Sunday. It is alleged that the mother left the two toddlers unattended and upon returning home, she observed the deceased hanging from the outside room window, with the hoody of his jacket stuck on the window, and he was bleeding from the nose, The mother then rushed the deceased to the hospital but he was declared dead upon arrival. The next of kin were informed and police investigations continue.
