Keetmanshoop State Hospital staff up in arms over out-of-service elevators

Institutional workers at the Keetmanshoop State Hospital are up in arms over out-of-service elevators. They demand that the hospital's management fix the broken elevators, which they claim had been non-functional for about a month. The workers say they have to carry food for patients using the stairs from one floor to the other. According to the workers, on Tuesday they were provided with personal protective gear to carry down the stairs, the body of a COVID-19 patient to the mortuary. The workers threatened not to serve food to the patient's wards walking the stairs as of today. Approached for comments, //Kharas Regional Health director, Sandra !Owoses said the Governor will soon brief the media on COVID-19 issues as well as the broken elevators.
