Muheua conferred official Funeral

President Hage Geingob has conferred the late Alphaus Vehonga Muheua an Official Funeral. Muheua was a founding member of the Mine Workers Union of Namibia and former President of the National Union of Namibian Workers. As a labour unionist, he relentlessly fought for the rights and better working conditions of Namibian workers. He was later elected and served as a Member of Parliament. He was appointed Deputy Minister of Labour, Industrial Relations and Employment Creation until he resigned in 2018. President Geingob describes the former trade unionist as reliable, hardworking, affable and a committed compatriot who served Namibia with dedication and distinction, who also made invaluable contributions to the socio-economic development and body politic of Namibia. The remains of the late Muheua will be interred on a date and place to be agreed to in consultation with the family. Honourable Alphaus Vehonga Muheua died at the age of 65.
