Councillor for Rundu Rural Constituency and MP in the National Council, Paulus Mbangu has called for the decentralisation of certain functions of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security, to regional councils to accelerate service delivery. Mbangu singled out the issuance of identity documents to newborns, recruitment, verification of fingerprints and an immigration tribunal as services that need to be transferred to local offices.
