National Fuel Storage Facility receives first vessel to discharge diesel

Namibia received the first vessel to discharge petroleum at the National Fuel Storage Facility on Tuesday. This was revealed in a media statement from the Ministry of Mines and Energy's public relation officer on Thursday. In the statement, Simon Andreas explained that the vessel is scheduled to offload 35 000 tons of diesel as part of the final tests on the completion of the oil storage facility. He noted that their technical teams will continue testing the facility as part of the final stage of the construction of the project. Andreas says once the test is completed and the facility is certified as fit the Government will take over the facility and in turn hand it over to NAMCOR to operate the fuel handling process.
