The NBC board has directed the corporation's management to iron out a number of "internal technicalities", and then engage the Namibia Public Workers Union, with comprehensive feedback. The board took this decision at its special meeting, after studying a report from Management, explaining their position on wage negotiations with NAPWU. In a statement issued to the media, NBC spokesperson Umbi Karuaihe-Upi explained that the Board takes the matter of employee remuneration very seriously and that the broadcaster strives to be a people-centred organization. She said that given the fact that the nbc is negotiating - in good faith with its key partner NAPWU - it would be considered insincere for the broadcaster to comment publicly on the matter, before communicating with the union, at the appropriate platform. NBC employees last received a salary increment three years ago.
