Minister Utoni Nujoma says that it is regrettable that a significant number of employers, both for established and emerging businesses, still follow the legacy of the contract labour system. Low wages for black workers date back to the introduction of the contract labour system in Namibia. And the country's independence has not completely shaken exploitative pre-independence norms when it comes to addressing equal opportunities. Minister of Labour, Utoni Nujoma said this at the induction workshop of the minimum wage commission.
