SWAPO Party Secretary-General Sophia Shaningwa says Phil ya Nangolo will only be issued with the party membership card if he tenders a formal apology. At a media briefing held in Windhoek today, Shaningwa maintained that Ya Nangolo should apologise to the Founding President Sam Nujoma and the entire SWAPO Party. She noted that Ya Nangolo indeed applied for the party membership through the relevant structures. As a result, the party Polit Bureau deliberated on the application and took a decision that he must ask forgiveness. Shaningwa pointed out the media conference was not called to lay a red carpet for Ya Nangolo's reception, but for him to publicly apologise. At the same time, the party SG denied any knowledge of President Hage Geingob having expressed interest in vying for a third-Term. She however stressed that the Swapo Party presidency has no term limit and Dr Geingob can still contest if he so wishes.
