Chaos erupted in the Windhoek City Centre after the police and protesters clashed during the #ShutItAllDown protests today. Some of the protestors and journalists were arrested. According to the police 27 were detained. Twenty three will be charged and will appear in court on Monday. Community members, parents, activist and political leaders gathered at Windhoek Correctional Facility to sympathise with arrested protestors. Among those in attendance were the leader of the official opposition, McHenry Venaani and Affirmative Repositioning (AR) Movement activist, Job Amupanda. So far only four detainees were released, mostly journalists.
