The Office of the President will not seek to jeopardise or influence the course of the law, in terms of an investigation into corruption at Fishcor. Involving the alleged donation of N$12,5 million to the SWAPO, by the state-owned fishing company, the matter is awaiting a decision by the Prosecutor General, and is soon to proceed to trial. In a statement issued today, the Presidency noted that it would not seek to jeopardise or influence the administration of justice, through public statements induced by the media. "The President will, when trial-related rules and ethics allow, and at an appropriate time," address the said allegations, with the view to demonstrate their falsity.
