The United States is in a tailspin. White supremacists appear to be on the rise and the latest incident there has left one person dead. There was a march in Charlottesville, Virginia, filled with torches, Nazi flags and chants of "White Lives Matter" in the wake of the incident. It took more than 36 hours and a killing believed to have been carried out by a neo-Nazi for the White House to denounce white supremacists. Professor Lamont Slater, an instructor and programme co-ordinator for the Centre for Global Education and Experience (CGEE) for Southern Africa (Namibia) is here to help us better understand race matters in America.
