Members of the public have been urged to visit authorised offices for issuing travel permits in and out of Windhoek, Okahandja and Rehoboth. The Ministry of Health and Social Services in a media statement said a large number of public members are observed flocking to the police, following the announcement of the implementation of amended regulations by the ministry on 17 June 2021. Travel Authorised officers for issuance of permits are NAMPOL station commanders, high-ranked officers, or designated officers by the Inspector-General; Executive Directors or Regional Directors of Ministries of Health, Education, Trade and Industrialisation as well as Environment, Forestry, and Tourism. Persons permitted entry, transit or exit into or out of restricted areas should adhere to the public health regulations.
