More than 40 guards of Shimela Security Services working at the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform in the Kavango East Region have not been paid their salaries since September 2020. Namibia Independent Security Union Deputy Secretary-General, Benedictus Rumapa have decided to stay away from their duty posts to force the company to pay their salaries. Rumapa also called Government to prioritise companies that respect employees rights when giving tenders.
