SSC commences National Employment and Salary Protection scheme

The Social Security Commission (SSC) announced that payments to employees through applications by their employers under the National Employment and Salary Protection scheme for COVID-19 has commenced. The public is informed that those employees who couldn’t be applied for by an employer, for one reason or another, can now do so on their own behalf. This is done in order to extend the coverage and ensure maximum positive impact. Application Forms for Affected Employees are now available on the SSC’s website for download and are also available at all offices countrywide, excluding Walvis Bay currently under lockdown. The requirements are that the applicants must have been registered with the SCC, must earn below N$50 000 per year; and must proof that employment and salary were affected by COVID-19.
