A 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 46-year-old man at Opuwo on Friday. According to a Namibian Police crime report, the girl and her cousin had gone to Opuwo, from the village where they live, on Friday. In Opuwo they met the suspect, who reportedly grabbed the victim, forced her into his house and locked her up in his house. The girl’s niece went back to the village and informed her parents and the matter was reported to the police the next day. The police and the girl’s parents then went to the suspect’s residence, where they found both the girl and suspect. The man has been arrested and police investigations continue. -NAMPA
