The Uranium One Group, which is exploring uranium in Stampriet and Leonardville, held an information-sharing session where experts from across the world presented their experiences about the proposed in-situ mining process the group wants to undertake in Namibia. The experts, while sharing their experiences, assured the media and various stakeholders that the proposed methods that would be used in Namibia are safe and have been tested in countries such as the United States of America, Australia and Kazakhstan among others. They praised Namibia for leading in protecting its environment. The only challenge all experts agreed on is the co-existence of the mine with animals and the community. They say they are therefore willing to engage the Local Authorities and the community to find an amicable solution.
