The inmates of Luderitz Correctional Facility received a donation of literature to boost their rehabilitation opportunities, thanks to the RJS Foundation.
Handing over the books, the RJS Foundation's founder, Reverend Jan Scholtz, encouraged inmates to embark on a journey of reading as a lasting and educational aspect of life.
The books valued at N$2,000 include ten copies of the book titled 'Jan's Writings,' authored by Scholtz.
The content of the book is based on faith, social development, and economic development, which focus on the contemporary daily challenges Namibians experience.
"My message to young people in the correctional facility is that we have the best of world opportunities and challenges; you can live your life as a witness to the change and get lost in the maze of modernization and growth that will continue to engulf us."
Luderitz Correctional Facility's Deputy Officer in Charge, Johannes Hafeni, received the donation.
"One of the key aspects of life is knowledge; we read anything to acquire knowledge, and then we have a small library, and then we hear someone want to give us books; it was something big to us."
