Applications for the Miss Namibia and Miss Teen Namibia competitions are officially open.

The activation event was held at Maerua Mall in the capital.

Those wishing to follow in the footsteps of current title holders Cassia Sharpley and Zoe Karsten are urged to download an application form on www.nbc.na for both Miss Namibia and Miss Teen Namibia or visit the Namibia Broadcasting Corporation's TV and Radio headquarters.

Some of the requirements are that applicants should be between the ages of 15-19 to apply for Miss Teen Namibia, while those aged 19- 28 can apply to participate in Miss Namibia. 

The application fee to be attached for Miss Namibia's entry is N$850 and N$700 for Miss Teen Namibia. 

The nbc's Corporate Communications Officer, Beaulah Boois-Beukes, outlined the characteristics for Miss Namibia and Miss Teen Namibia.

Sharpley at the event said being Miss Namibia was more than just a title; it meant bringing changes to individuals' lives and communities.

The current Miss Teen Namibia, Karsten, encouraged her successor to come out and inspire others, saying Miss Teen is more than just being beautiful.

All application forms should be in by March 31.
