The Swapo Party Central Committee meeting has elected new office bearers to serve the party in various portfolios for a five-year term.

Peya Mushelenga has been elected as Secretary for External Relations, while Veikko Nekundi has been elected as Secretary for Defense and Security.

Bernadette Jagger grabbed the Economic Affairs Secretary position, and Lucia Ipumbu became the Secretary for Finance.

Hilma Nikanor retained her position as Secretary for Information and Mobilization, while veteran journalist turned politician Modeatus Amutse was elected as Secretary for Labor.

The Secretary for Education, Culture, and Sports went to Lucia Witbooi, and Kornelia Shilunga was named Secretary for Health and Social Services.
 
Pohamba Shifeta is the new Legal Secretary; Utoni Nujoma is the Secretary for Transport; Jennelly Matundu is the Secretary for Environmental Affairs; and Laura McLeod-Katjirua was elected as the Secretary for Agriculture, Water, and Food Security.

Verna Sinimbo is taking charge of the Housing, Sanitation, and Rural Development portfolio. 

These 13 office-bearers, together with the top four elected at last year's Congress, complete the Swapo Party's leadership structure.
