President Hage Geingob says he was impressed by the US First Lady Jill Biden for highlighting Namibia's commitment to democracy and with respect to the country's position on certain issues.

Dr. Geingob conveyed his appreciation during a courtesy visit by US Ambassador to Namibia, Randy Berry at the State House.

US First Lady Dr. Jill Biden visited Namibia on the invitation of First Lady Monica Geingos, from the 22-25th February.

The visit saw Biden focus on women's empowerment, children's issues, and food insecurity - which has been exacerbated by COVID-19 and climate change.

President Geingob says Namibia is honored to have received the US First Lady and is impressed with the way she addressed issues of common concern.

The US Mission in Windhoek says it is currently working towards ensuring that commitments made during Dr. Biden's visit would produce tangible results.
