Namibia's first family showered with gifts

Family and friends of President Hage Geingob and First Lady Monica Geingos showered the first couple with gifts and other gestures of gratitude at their farm.

Namibia's first family too did not let the festive feeling pass them by, despite their demanding national schedules.

Currently on retreat, family patriarch President Geingob and First Lady Monica Geingos spent the family day with their blended families, who expressed nothing but love and greatness towards them.

FirstRand Namibia Foundation invests N$2.8 million in education sector

Over the past six months, FirstRand Namibia Foundation has invested N$2.8 million into the education sector.

This was revealed by the Chairperson of the Foundation Clara Bohitile at the official handover in Windhoek on Tuesday.

The Chairperson of the Foundation Clara Bohitile vowed that the foundation will remain committed to ensuring the provision of quality education to Namibian children, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

US First Lady Jill Biden impresses President Geingob

President Hage Geingob says he was impressed by the US First Lady Jill Biden for highlighting Namibia's commitment to democracy and with respect to the country's position on certain issues.

Dr. Geingob conveyed his appreciation during a courtesy visit by US Ambassador to Namibia, Randy Berry at the State House.


US First Lady Dr. Jill Biden visited Namibia on the invitation of First Lady Monica Geingos, from the 22-25th February.

Project Never Walk Alone raises N$3 million

Project Never Walk Alone has, through its Great 50 Pledge initiative, honored President Hage Geingob, Former President Hifikepunye Pohamba, and Founding President Sam Nujoma.

The project raised over N$3 million through a dinner attended by business leaders and philanthropists to continue its work in ensuring that no Namibian child goes to school barefoot.

The recipients of the Great 50 award were selected by the Project Never Walk Alone team and included former First Lady Penehupifo Pohamba and First Lady Monica Geingos.

U.S First Lady arrives in Namibia

The First Lady of the United States of America, Jill Biden, has arrived in Namibia for a two-day official visit.

Dr. Biden touched down at the Hosea Kutako International Airport this afternoon.

This is Dr. Biden's maiden visit to the land of the brave and her first stop on a five-day Africa tour as part of a push to strengthen America's ties with the continent. 

Biden was met by her Namibian counterpart, Monica Geingos.

Office of the First Lady to host youth masterclass

The Office of the First Lady will be hosting a youth masterclass as well as training on sexual and gender-based violence for frontline service providers in the Kunene Region. 

Transactional relationships, fatherlessness, problematic mindsets, moral decay, lack of contraceptives, and substance abuse, to mention a few, are part of the negative social myriad facing young people in the Kunene Region.
