Mines and Energy Ministry aims to attract more investors and embrace innovation as well as improve transparency in the industry.
The ministry further pledges to continue to support small miners and contribute to job creation.
This was the remark of its Deputy Minister Kornelia Shilunga when tabling the ministry's budget of N$250 million for the 2023-2024 financial year in the National Assembly today.
The minister plans to invest more in geoscience and research and energy resources.
Shilunga state that an amount of N$79 million will be used to ensure energy supply security.
Electrification mostly in rural areas will be the ministry's priority while at the same time ensuring the security petroleum supply in the country.
The Deputy Minister further reiterated that the Kudu Gas Field project is still in the pipeline.
She also noted that Namibia plans to send more youth for training and build the desired capacity in the sector.
Namibia's future is therefore bright and secure and therefore the populace to guard against corruption, Shilunga state.
