The captain of the Richelieu Eagles, Gerhard Erasmus, said the team's performances have been solid on several occasions during the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-Offs.

The Richelieu Eagles are currently hosting Canada, Jersey, Papa New Guinea, the United Arab Emirates and the United States of America for a two-week tournament, which is set to end on Wednesday, the 5th of April.

The Eagles have won two games so far against PNG and Jersey but lost to the USA and UAE, which means they still have a chance to qualify for the final qualifying tournament in Zimbabwe set for June this year.

In their four matches the team has conceded 1044 runs, while they scored 987 runs. Captain Erasmus says they are currently in a rebuilding phase and so they are trying hard to be as successful as can be in this tournament.

The losses against the USA and UAE coupled with injuries of some key players have put the Richelieu Eagles under pressure to qualify for the next phase.

One positive aspect is the batting, which according to the captain, has been their strength as the team has been scoring frequently with high intensity. Meanwhile, the bowling is in need of improvement.

In Tuesday's schedule the Richelieu Eagles will play Canada in their final match, while the USA will face Jersey.
