The Ongwediva Town Council has successfully completed two capital projects aimed at improving municipal infrastructure and service delivery.

The project was officially handed over by Ongwediva Mayor Naemi Amuthenu, who described their completion as an important milestone for the town and its residents. The projects comprise electrical reticulation networks at extension-12 phase one at the cost of N$4.9 million.

The project commenced in December last year. The second project is the upgrading of the sewerage raising main pump line from pump station number three to the oxidation ponds at a cost of N$3 million.

That project commenced in January this year, and completed last month. Amuthenu explained. “As Council we remain committed to accelerating service delivery, expanding essential infrastructure, and creating a sustainable and economically vibrant Ongwediva for the benefits of current and future generations.

The completion of these projects is not merely the completion of construction; it is the delivery of services, opportunities, and a better future for our people.”

Amuthenu said capital projects remain at the heart of the Council's mandate, as they transform municipality plans and public resources into tangible services and infrastructure that directly benefit communities.

For residents the accomplishment of the project means improved municipal services, better living conditions, and a stronger foundation for sustainable community development.

For the general public, these projects are visible evidence of progress and development in the mother town."
