State House says there is simply no truth to assertions made in the local daily newspaper article, attributed to Vice President Nangolo Mbumba.

The article was titled 'Young people will never win elections—Mbumba, as he announces retirement plans', which State House says is false.

Vice President Mbumba addressed the re-union meeting of the Namibian Exiled Kids Association over the weekend, where he called on the youth to embrace the motto 'One Namibia, One Nation', as the statement says.

It says Mbumba further advised the youth to shy away from regionalism, tribalism, and ethnicity, whose tendencies are manifesting in some political parties and formations that are emerging in the country's political landscape.

The statement further quotes the Vice President verbatim, saying that "some young people have become tribalists, while others form political parties along tribal lines. They will never win elections. People did not die in the struggle for independence for their families or regions."

Mateus Kaholongo, the Deputy Executive Director in the Office of the President, says, therefore, that the article in the local daily newspaper is nothing but a figment of the author's imagination.

He says Mbumba is an ardent promoter of youth empowerment and development and has groomed thousands of young people who are now in leadership positions both in government and the private sector.
