Two boys aged 8 and 13 stole a Toyota Fortuner at farm Kaliombo in the Karibib area.

According to the Namibian Police weekend crime report, the two minors left for school on Friday in their school uniform while wearing casual wear underneath their uniform.

The boys, according to the police, diverted from school and hitchhiked to the farm, where the vehicle was parked with the key in the ignition.

The police report further states that the boys, after stealing the car, drove to the Karibib police checkpoint, where they spent the night and headed to Karibib in the morning.

It is alleged that they then drove around Karibib with their friends and that members of the public reported them to the police.

The father of the boys, according to the police, is employed at the farm.

The 13-year-old has been charged and is being released under parental care, while his co-accused, the 8-year-old, has not been charged.
