The Revive Kalkfeld Project continues to change the image of the village and revive it, to its former glory.
These are the sentiments of Otjiwarongo Constituency Councillor Marlene Mbakera, when she received donation of furniture for the recently renovated community hall at the settlement.
Mbakera says development is slowly taking shape at Kalkfeld, which sees little or no economic activities.
She says plans are now in motion to host an open day for more investors to set up shops in the area.
Kalkfeld was downgraded in 1996 due to a lack of growth.
"Give me time, we will develop Kalkfeld. Support me, hold my hand, relax, and just give me time. We will get it right and I am telling you more people are coming, people are calling, people are asking, what is it, what is next."
Handing over the donation of 200 chairs and 20 tables was Juliet Kavetuna, a board member of KenMatri company.
"This place is having a significant place in my heart and I am so excited to be part and parcel of it and its revival because I saw it going dead and I want to be part of it when it's becoming alive. The Councillor is trying to do something. You found her on the way and you helped her to reach the destination."
The settlement is home to over 5000 residents.
