A young entrepreneur from Gobabis has called on other unemployed youth to come up with businesses rather than waiting to be employed.

Sheirly Katuuo made this call when the nbc News team visited her chicken project in the town.

The 36-year-old Sheirly Katuuo says owning a chicken project is something she has been dreaming about, but it comes with effort and dedication.

Katuuo says she has been hustling to get employment since she graduated from the University of Namibia in Accounting and Auditing but to no avail.

Now with her chicken project, she is taking care of her family and also employs two young people.

"The message that I would like to give to my fellow youth out there is that where there is a will there is a way, so with the little that you really start with, it will take you further, we need to make our dreams come true,  after five years this business should feed the schools, hotels restaurants, and family members."

The poultry farmer says at present she supplies eggs to local residents.

Katuuo added each business has its unique challenges, and hers is the infrastructural aspect that needs support.

Omaheke Governor, Pijoo Nganate applauded Katuuo for coming up with such a project adding his office and other stakeholders will see how they can assist young people with such innovative ideas.
