South Korea is lobbying Namibia for its support in its bid to host the World Expo 2030.

Park Heong-joon, who is the Special Envoy of South Korea's President, Yoon Suk Yeol, delivered an official letter to the State House.

Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila received the letter on behalf of President Hage Geingob. South Korea is among four countries that have submitted competing candidatures to organise the World Expo 2030.

The host country of World Expo 2030 will be elected in November by the member states of the Bureau International des Expositions, an intergovernmental organisation in charge of overseeing and regulating World Expos.

South Korea says it counts on Namibia's support, given the special ties anchored on shared democratic values, freedom, and the rule of law. Report: Blanche Goreses Photo Credit: Namibian Presidency #NBCNews #nbcDSTV282 #nbcdigitalnews #nbcGOtv91
