The Chief Executive Officer of Miss Namibia, Umbi Karuaihe-Upi, says the country is ready to compete in international beauty pageants.

The top ten Miss Namibia finalists are currently on tour in the ||Kharas Region, discovering the breathtaking landscapes of the southern region.

The ten finalists in this year's Miss Namibia Beauty pageant were taken on a tour to Giants Playgroup, situated a few kilometres outside Keetmanshoop.

Namibia made history by winning the Miss Universe Pageant in 1992, and Umbi Karuaihe-Upi is confident that the country will bring home one of the major beauty pageant titles this year.

"I am sure that this year we will have an international crown because, as you can see, all of them stand a good chance to win. They are all beautiful, intelligent young ladies, and I feel so reassured that any of them can represent Namibia at any international competition."

The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation now owns the Miss Namibia beauty pageant.
