Winna Mariba game show returns

The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (nbc) and Trustco Group have revived and unveiled the television game show Winna Mariba.

This exciting comeback follows the signing of a five-year memorandum of understanding between the national broadcaster and Trustco Group, paving the way for a series of engaging programmes.

The momentous joint announcement signifies a step forward in the production of local content.

"The Goal" premiers on DStv 

The film is part of the thirteen films by Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (nbc) and Multi-Choice Namibia.

"The Goal" film premiered on KykNET and DSTV.

The crew gathered at the Goethe-Institut to witness the premiere of the film.

The film tells the story of a talented young footballer from an underprivileged background who puts her scholarship at risk when she tries to fit in at a private school.

Otja Kooper, who played the lead character, sat with nbc.

MultiChoice, nbc launch Mukorob Film Project

The Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Technology (MICT), Emma Theofelus, has urged commercial banks to consider the establishment of a specialised loan programme tailored to support local filmmakers.

Namibians are encouraged to show support for their beauty queens as they represent the country on international stages.

There are four pageants in which Namibia will be represented internationally.

Miss Namibia Jameela |Uiras will represent the country at Miss Universe, set to take place on the 18th of November this year in El Salvador. First runner-up Albertina Haimbala will be participating in the 72nd Miss World competition, with the country and date still to be announced.

Female MP's encouraged to advocate for more funding for nbc

Oshana Governor Elia Irimari has encouraged female parliamentarians participating in a capacity-building workshop for women parliamentarians in Oshakati to advocate for more funding for the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (nbc).

This step is essential to enabling the broadcaster to expand its reach across all 14 regions of the country.

National Skills Competition to take place in September

The National Training Authority (NTA) will host the 3rd National Skills Competition in September.

NTA entered into an exciting Service Level Agreement with the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (nbc).

The agreement will see full coverage of the skills competition across all of nbc's platforms.

The event is in preparation for the Global WorldSkills competition, which is slated for next year in France.

Technical and vocational skills are the focal points, where the best in a variety of skill sets will compete.

The top ten Miss Namibia finalists are currently on tour in the ||Kharas Region, discovering the breathtaking landscapes of the southern region.

The ten finalists in this year's Miss Namibia Beauty pageant were taken on a tour to Giants Playgroup, situated a few kilometres outside Keetmanshoop.
