The construction of the One Economy Foundation's #BeFree Centre of Excellence is advancing.

The centre, currently under construction, will see learners from different schools visit the construction site to familiarise themselves with what it is all about as well as the progress made.

The centre, which will provide a safe space for the youth, is situated at Katutura's youth complex.

It will provide an opportunity for the youth to have access to a range of services and resources to unlock their full potential.

During a site visit by officials and learners, emphasis was placed on the need to address issues faced by the youth, such as mental health and teenage pregnancy.

The campus, which will boost a wellness clinic, STEM centre, and skills centre, is hoped to empower the youth and help them break free from any limitations they may face as well as out of trouble.

NamPol's Inspector General, Lieutenant General Joseph Shikongo, while raising concern about a high number of youths in cells, says the centre will help solve such problems, especially for boys.
