The founder of a clothing production and training institute in the Zambezi Region has emphasized the importance of more individuals considering enrolling in such courses to sustain themselves, particularly in light of the high unemployment rate in the country.

Erestina Simubali explains that the academy was established to cater to individuals who face challenges in enrolling in institutions like vocational training centers, aiming to reduce youth unemployment.

"We focus mainly on youth, both male and female and those ladies at home who don't have anything to do and are just reluctant at home doing nothing, so we're focusing also on those people, even though the challenge they face is payment, they say they want training but they don't have money to pay for their training."

Simubali mentioned that the Eressy Training Academy, accredited by the Namibian Training Authority, is awaiting feedback regarding the availability of funding for students who enroll at the academy.

Macwani Simubali, the center manager, adds that students at the academy are also provided with internship opportunities within the institution.

"The trainees who are here will be employed on a part-time basis to produce also with us and they will be given incentives such as remuneration for their work done here part-time while their studying here also."

He mentioned that efforts are underway to enable students to graduate from the institution, and preparations for upcoming exams are currently underway.
