Project Hope has donated school uniforms to more than 50 learners and water tanks to schools in Kavango East Region.

The project aims to help children below the age of 17 who are from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The schools that benefited from the project are Maputa, Thikanduko, Shipando, Karukuta, and Aloys Hashipara primary schools.

The project targets helping children living with HIV, those born to female sex workers, victims of GBV, children living in child-headed households, orphans, young mothers, and pregnant children.

Project Hope's Regional Programme Manager, Kakororo Clara, says the initial plan was to build toilets in Kavango East and West, Omusati, and Ohangwena regions.

She says due to implementation time constraints, the plan was modified to instead provide water tanks and school uniforms.

Project Hope donated a full school uniform set to all the beneficiaries.

The donations were received by the Education Inspector of Shambyu Circuit, Anna Mateya, who appreciated the donation.

Project Hope will take care of the installation of the water tanks and also pay for labour costs.
