Residents of Otjiwarongo received free legal advice from lawyers from different law firms under the Law Society of Namibia.

Legal advice is very costly and only accessible to those more fortunate than others.

This leaves more people with unanswered questions regarding legal matters such as estate administration, divorce, property ownership, and employment matters.

Giving them a glimpse of the justice system are lawyers under the Law Society of Namibia, who dedicated a full day to having one-on-one sessions with community members of Otjiwarongo.

Otjiwarongo residents turned up in numbers, and while some cases are considered small, there were those with major issues, which the director says will be taken on a pro bono basis.

The town's mayor, Gottlieb Shivute, says the benefits that come with free legal advice cannot be overemphasised.

The free legal advice session was organized by the Law Society of Namibia together with the office of the Ombudsman.

The Ministry of Justice, the Master of the High Court, and the Office of the Labour Commissioner were also represented at the free legal advice session.

The team will proceed to Rundu, Katima Mulilo, Gobabis, and Rehoboth.
