There is a need to foster and nurture an eco-conscious generation of young people who will protect Namibia's fragile ecosystem as we face environmental challenges.

It's for this reason that the EduConservation Project is hosting a teacher training workshop on conservation and environmental protection for primary school children.

The EduConservation Project aims to impact youth during their school years and ensure that they develop a positive attitude toward conservation.

This can be achieved through the development of educational content that is relevant, country-specific, supportive, and fits the school curriculum.

The EduConservation project developed and distributed an Activity Toolkit for the learners, covering nine core topics related to nature conservation.

The training is done in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Arts, and Culture, schools, inspectors, and teachers.

Currently, only 300 teachers from 30 selected pilot schools in six regions are undergoing the training.

EduConservation is a pan-African educational project focusing on integrating well-researched Africa-centric conservation resources to enrich and supplement the curricula of the formal education systems in African countries.

It was initiated by Sabine Plattner African Charities in partnership with Leadership for Conservation in Africa after the 2014 World Parks Congress.
