Ohamba of the Oukwanyama Traditional Authority, Martha Nelumbu, will hold a series of meetings with her traditional leadership to hear their success stories and the challenges they face.

Over the weekend, Nelumbu met with the leadership at Eudaneko District in Etomba Village in the Oshikango Constituency.

The Senior Headman of Eudaneko District, George Nelulu, informed Ohamba that people are illegally fencing off large tracts of grazing land.

Nelulu reported an alarming livestock theft in the district, where cattle are even driven from the kraals to Angola, Rundu, and Katwitwi, where they are sold to vendors.

Even donkeys are stolen and slaughtered, says the leader.

Nelulu also highlighted house break-ins and cuca shops that stay open until late at night, which leads to increased crime.

Issues of family disputes over land ownership after the death of a family member also require the Ministry of Justice's and the communal Land Board's intervention to educate communities on the law.

The mushrooming of Pentecostal churches that conduct services until late and a self-proclaimed pastor who allegedly impregnated four learners at Etomba Combined School are among other factors worrying the community.

"We need someone to come to our rescue about these churches; where did these churches come from? We traditional leaders are unable to handle them, and I think that they can only be handled by law enforcement agencies so that they can be reduced and discouraged from continuing to set up a lot of structures here and start operating right away. We called a meeting; they were here in large numbers, but they grouped together to defend themselves."

Ohamba Nelumbu called for unity and the maintenance of peace in all districts.

"Some of the challenges mentioned here left me so overwhelmed. I was deeply touched, and I will not go back to peace after hearing what Nelulu narrated here. Let us stand united and shun evil among us."
