Two more men appeared in the Swakopmund Magistrate's Court on murder charges related to the death of Peter Bockky Amwaalwa.

They joined four other suspects who appeared in court on Monday on similar charges.

Joram Gariseb, 18, and Lucky Gamathan, 41, were not asked to plead after their rights to legal representation were read to them.

The 22-year-old Amwaalwa was found dead and in a pool of blood in Swakopmund's Mondesa suburb by police officers on patrol about two weeks ago.

Linden Duwe, 27, Sidney Jooste, 24, John Meriri, 25, and a 17-year-old minor have already appeared in court on similar charges.

The suspects are accused of inflicting stabbing wounds on Amwaalwa, which caused his death.

The state, represented by Anita Likius, objected to the granting of bail to the accused, saying the investigation is still in its infancy stage and that the accused may interfere with witnesses.

The prosecution also argues that granting them bail will not be in the interest of the administration of justice.

Magistrate Conchita Olivier postponed the matter to August 30 for further police investigation.

The suspects are remanded in police custody.
