Likius Ngesheya from Suiderlig Secondary School in Keetmanshoop is this year's overall winner of the Science Fair. More than one hundred students from seventeen schools in the ||Kharas Region took part in the two-day science fair.

The Regional Science Fair, sponsored by the Anglo-American Namibian Foundation, aims to promote creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills among learners.

Ngesheya, a Grade 11 learner, says that his invention became necessary as many local authorities and town councils struggled to control illegal electricity connections in both urban and rural areas.

The science projects that the learners themselves created in the form of reports, display boards, and models are the result of their experimentation with imagination.

The selected primary and secondary school learners will represent the ||Kharas Region in the upcoming National Science Fair.
