The Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) is inviting the creative industry for a stakeholder engagement session next Tuesday.

The engagement session is necessitated following concerns from the creatives on tax registration and payment.

Appropriate tax categories for their profession, as well as challenges at borders with customs officials when they import or export their material, will be addressed.

"In response, we have now decided to organise a tailored engagement session to address their profession. Specific queries. This initiative is part of a stakeholder engagement strategy to recognise the vital role of the art industry in national development and revenue generation. So we want to empower and assist them in becoming tax-law compliant. This engagement marks an essential step towards fostering a robust relationship with a creative community and reinforcing our commitment to mutual understanding and collaboration with all our stakeholders," said NamRA's Strategic Communications and Stakeholders Engagement Manager, Tonateni Shidhudhu.

The session will take place at the National Theatre of Namibia at 14:30.
