Hundreds of senior people in the Donkerhoek, Katutura, have been identified by Round Table Namibia, a nonprofit organisation that focuses on community-based projects to improve the lives of communities, as beneficiaries of their programme.

During the winter, the organisation has been raising funds to support elderly people and vulnerable communities that are at risk across Namibia.

So far, they have been giving back to the community by providing primary healthcare, assisting vulnerable households, and running a soup kitchen.

One of the Round Table volunteers, Tega Shiimi ya Shiimi, says that their primary focus is to assist the communities in adapting and improving their living conditions.

"We also recognise that there are a lot of vulnerable issues within the community, so the handover is just to give back to the community. There are other communities as well, not just the Donkerhoek community, but this is just a gesture through the round table to give back to the others."

The total value of the donated blankets is around N$10,000.

The team has been making a difference in the lives of communities for the past 20 years.
